1 Chronicles - Chapter 7
In this chapter we read the genealogies of Issachar, Benjamin, Naphtali, Manasseh, Ephraim and Asher.
There is an interesting reference in the descendants of Manasseh, in verse 15:
"Machir took as his wife the sister of Huppim and Shuppim, whose name was Maachah. The name of Gilead’s grandson was Zelophehad, but Zelophehad begot only daughters."
The story of Zelophehad and his daughters was in Numbers 27, and this resulted in a special law that enabled the inheritance to pass through the daughter. It was this law that would enable Jesus to have a claim to the inheritance of David's throne, through his mother's line. This special law was necessary for Jesus' legal claims following the virgin birth.
