1 Chronicles - Chapter 8

In this chapter we see a continuation of the list of the family of Benjamin, which was started in the previous chapter.  This part of the history is important, because it gives details of the first King of Israel.  This was Saul, who was from the tribe of Benjamin.

In the story of Jesus in the New Testament, one of the major characters is also named Saul (although his name is changed to Paul).  

In his letter in Philippians 3, Paul gave some information about himself:

"I was circumcised when I was eight days old. I am a pure-blooded citizen of Israel and a member of the tribe of Benjamin—a real Hebrew if there ever was one!"

The tribe of Benjamin listed in Chapter 8 continued, and produced one of the greatest Christians.
