1 Kings - Chapter 19

Elijah meets with Jesus in the Old and the New Testament.

In the Old Testament - in this chapter -

"All at once an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.” He looked around, and there by his head was some bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again. The angel of the Lord came back a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you.” So he got up and ate and drank. Strengthened by that food, he travelled forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God. There he went into a cave and spent the night."

This reference to "the angel of the Lord" is a reference to the pre-incarnate Jesus.

In the New Testament Jesus meets with Elijah in Matthew 19:

"After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus."
