2 Kings - Chapter 21
In this chapter we meet another King of Judah that "did evil in the eyes of the Lord.
This is described using the symbol of a journey, where life is seen as an opportunity to walk with the Lord. This opportunity was missed by King Amon:
"he walked in all the ways that his father had walked; and he served the idols that his father had served, and worshiped them. He forsook the Lord God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of the Lord."
This symbol was used by Jesus in Matthew 7:
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."
