2 Kings - Chapter 22

In this chapter we read about King Josiah, who became King at the age of eight, and who did do what was right in the eyes of the Lord.  the High Priest found a long lost copy of the Book of the Law, and Josiah read it.  He recognised that the nation had not been obeying the Law set out in the book, and he told his advisors to seek the Lord about this.  In doing this they spoke with one of the very few prophetesses mentioned in the Old Testament - Hilkiah, who lived in Jerusalem.  Hilkiah spoke God's judgement on the people for not following God's law. But she also spoke God's mercy to the King of Judah.

Jesus also met with a prophetess who lived in Jerusalem. as recorded in Luke 2:

"Now there was one, Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was of a great age, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity; and this woman was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem."
