2 Samuel - Chapter 11

In Chapter 11, as with Chapter 10, we turn to the Genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1 to see the link between the people in the chapter and Jesus' own story in the New Testament.

In Chapter 11 David commits adultery with the wife of Uriah the Hittite, Bathsheba.  He then has Uriah killed, and marries Bathsheba.

In the Genealogy we read:

David was the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah’s wife"

And in this way Bathsheba is included in the family tree, even though she is not named there.
