2 Samuel - Chapter 15

David is the true King.  But the people have turned against him and he is facing death.

"David continued up the Mount of Olives, weeping as he went".

The Mount of Olives features in the story of Jesus, when the people turned against him and he was facing death on the cross.  In Luke 19 we read:

As he approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 31 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it.’”

And as Jesus approached Jerusalem on the colt, he too wept:

"As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it."
