2 Samuel - Chapter 4

This is a short chapter, with murder and bloodshed throughout it.  But hidden away in it is David's reference to Jesus.  Recab and Baanah came to David with the head of Ish-Bosheth, whom they had killed.  They expected a reward, but did not receive one - instead they were themselves executed.  David's response to them began:

As the Lord lives, who has redeemed my life from all adversity,"

This is an echo of Job's words in Job 19:

"For I know that my Redeemer lives,
And He shall stand at last on the earth;"

David knows that his Lord lives and is his redeemer. And that redeemer is Jesus.
