2 Samuel - Chapter 6

In this chapter the Ark is brought into Jerusalem, so that God's presence can be visibly seen in the city of the King.  The Ark is described by David like this:

"bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the Name, the name of the Lord Almighty, who is enthroned between the cherubim on the ark."

In Revelation 7 we have a picture of the one who is enthroned in heaven, sitting before the angels:

he who sits on the throne
   will shelter them with his presence.
Never again will they hunger;
   never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat down on them,
   nor any scorching heat.
For the Lamb at the centre of the throne
   will be their shepherd;
he will lead them to springs of living water.
