Deuteronomy - Chapter 16

This chapter looks at the festivals, beginning with Passover.  These festivals are prophetic - looking ahead to Jesus.  The people are told to sacrifice as the Passover to the Lord your God an animal from your flock or herd at the place the Lord will choose as a dwelling for his Name.

Jesus is described by John the Baptist (in John 1) as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.  Jesus was the Passover sacrificial lamb, sacrificed in Jerusalem.
