Exodus - Chapter 10

We are approaching the final plague - the plague of the firstborn, with the introduction of the Passover.  But before that there is one more plague - the plague of darkness.  The Egyptians worshiped the sun god Ra.  God therefore caused a total darkness to cover all Egypt for three days.  No one could see anyone else or leave his place for three days.  Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived.

The first words recorded in the bible as spoken by God were "Let there be light". In John Chapter 1 we see that Jesus was the light of men. And in John chapter 8 Jesus says "I am the light of the world. whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
