Exodus - Chapter 12
This Chapter describes one of the key events of the whole of human history. The Passover was a symbol of the sacrifice of Jesus - a lamb without defect was to be killed, and its blood would protect those who trusted in it.
When Jesus began his ministry - recorded in John Chapter 1 - John the Baptist sees Jesus and says "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world."
In Peter's first letter he says "you were redeemed with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect."
In Revelation chapter 4, John describes Jesus: "Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain standing in the centre of the throne.
And Jesus celebrated his final Passover meal before his crucifixion with his disciples, saying that the wine represented his blood.
