Exodus - Chapter 36
In this chapter we are looking at the work of the skilled craftsmen, as they make the coverings. We have already seen that the door to the tabernacle speaks of Jesus. Here a curtain is made for the door.
He also made a screen for the tabernacle door, of blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen, made by a weaver, and its five pillars with their hooks. And he overlaid their capitals and their rings with gold, but their five sockets were bronze.
The embroidery has three colour - blue to speak of Jesus' heavenly nature; purple his kingship; and scarlet reminds us of his shed blood.
And the rings of gold have sockets of bronze. Bronze speaks of judgement and silver of redemption.
