Exodus - Chapter 6

God gives Moses seven "I will" promises to pass on to the people:

I will: free you from your oppression; rescue you from your slavery in Egypt; redeem you with a powerful arm and great acts of judgment; claim you as my own people; be your God; bring you into the land I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; give it to you as your very own possession.”

These promises made to the Israelites in their slavery are also the promises made by Jesus to all the world.  He is the great redeemer, who is claiming those who believe in him as his own people, and he has gone to prepare a place for us where we will be with him.
