Exodus - Chapter 8
In this chapter we see the plague of frogs. It seems a strange plague - why would God use frogs as a plague on Egypt? The answer in the case of this plague - and indeed in the case of the others as well - was that the Egyptians worshiped frogs. A frog goddess Heqet (Heket) was revered and connected with fertility and childbirth. Her depictions were either a frog or a woman with a frog’s head. The plagues were not random. They were designed to distinguish the false gods of the Egyptians from the one true God of the Israelites.
As Jesus said in John 14 "I am the way, the truth and the life. No-one comes to the father except through me."
