Genesis - Chapter 13
It is easy to miss the prophecy about Jesus in this chapter. This is because our modern idea of prophecy is looking for a prediction and a fulfilment. However, in Jewish writing prophecy is often seen in patterns.
A (very relevant) example of this is in Hosea 11: verse 1, where it says "When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son." This does not read like a Messianic prophecy, but in Matthew Chapter 2 we have the story of Herod's attempt to kill the baby Jesus. Joseph is warned by an angel to take Mary and Jesus to Egypt. They stayed there until the death of Herod. And Matthew then says, "so was fulfilled what was said through the prophet: 'Out of Egypt I called my son'".
This gives an insight into the reason for this strange episode in the life of Abraham. In Chapter 12 there was a famine, and Abraham and Sarah went to Egypt because the famine was severe. And in Chapter 13, verse 1 we see Abraham returning from Egypt with all the wealth he had acquired in Egypt. This is the start of the pattern, that will be repeated when Joseph goes into Egypt as a slave, and the Israelites are led out of Egypt by Moses, again carrying the wealth from the Egyptians.
And fulfilling the pattern which started in Genesis 13, Jesus is called out of Egypt to the promised land.
