Genesis - Chapter 20
In this Chapter Abraham finds himself in a dangerous region, and he lies (or at last tells a half-truth) about his relationship with Sarah. The King Abimelech therefore does not know that Sarah is married and he takes her into his harem. And Jesus appears to be absent from the picture during this story, while Abraham acts on his own initiative.
In fact, when you look below the surface, Jesus is far from absent. Jesus is the giver of all life, and throughout this story Jesus has kept Abraham safe and has closed up every womb in Abimelech's household, and kept the king from even touching Sarah.
Even when Abraham was making poor life choices he was loved and protected by God. And even when Abimelech was apparently the innocent party God said to him "you are a dead man".
The difference between life and death did not come from their actions - it came from Abraham's covenant relationship with God. Once that was fully restored, Jesus, the giver of life, opened the wombs of the women in the household; and through faith in Jesus Abraham had eternal life.
