Genesis - Chapter 27
Even before the twins, Jacob and Esau, were born, God told Rebekah that the older (Esau) would serve the younger (Jacob). In this chapter we read the lies and deceit that Jacob and his mother used to trick Isaac into blessing Jacob, rather than Esau. The lies and deceptions do not point to Jesus - and God was more than capable of delivering his plans without the assistance of Rebekah and Jacob.
However, while the methods do not point to Jesus, the central aspect of the chapter - the blessing which Jacob receives from Isaac - does.
In the first part of the blessing Isaac is talking directly about Jacob. But he then goes on to look further ahead: "May nations serve you and peoples bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may the sons of your brothers bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed and those who bless you be blessed."
This blessing receives its ultimate fulfilment in Jesus - Everyone who blesses Jesus will indeed be blessed. And those who curse him are rejecting the only one through whom they can be saved - a curse indeed.
