Genesis - Chapter 30
In chapter 29 we saw Jesus involved in the birth of Jacob's children, and that involvement continues in this chapter. But here we also see Jesus involved in the birth of the sheep and goats under Jacob's care. Jacob and Laban agree that the speckled and spotted animals will belong to Jacob. And Jesus enriches Jacob by massively increasing the number of speckled and spotted animals being born.
This involvement of Jesus is confirmed if we look ahead to chapter 31 where the angel of the Lord (Jesus) says to Jacob "Look up and see that all the male goats mating with the flock are streaked, speckled or spotted, for I have seen all that Laban has been doing to you. I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed a pillar and where you made a vow to me."
Jesus himself has been watching over Jacob so that, as it confirms in verse 43 "he grew exceedingly prosperous and came to own large flocks and maidservants and menservants, and camels and donkeys."
