Genesis - Chapter 50

The book of Genesis began with God, in the beginning, and his perfect creation.  As a consequence of the fall Genesis ends with Joseph placed in a coffin in Egypt.

And so Joseph died in Egypt, but his bones cannot be found there.  For in verse 25 he says that his bones are to be carried from this place; and we see in the final chapter of the book of Joshua that "Joseph's bones, which the Israelites had brought up from Egypt, were buried at Shechem in the tract of land that Jacob bought for a hundred pieces of silver from the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem."

And in verse 19 Joseph is talking to his brothers about their mistreatment of him  -"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives."

And this is repeated in the story of Jesus - the Jewish leaders intended to harm him, but God intended it for good to accomplish the saving of the whole world.

And after Jesus was dead and buried his bones, just like Joseph's, could not be found.  Jesus was placed in a tomb - but he is risen.  Hallelujah!
