This Chapter gives a list of the kings that have been conquered .

There is an echo of this chapter in Psalm 136

Give thanks to him who struck down mighty kings.
His faithful love endures forever.
He killed powerful kings—
His faithful love endures forever.
Sihon king of the Amorites,
His faithful love endures forever.
and Og king of Bashan.
His faithful love endures forever.
God gave the land of these kings as an inheritance—
His faithful love endures forever.
a special possession to his servant Israel.
His faithful love endures forever.

This Psalm is known as the Great Hallel - or Great Praise, and is one of the Hallel Psalms recited during Passover. It will have been part of the Hallelujahs in Luke 19, as Jesus rides into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday - as the people told Jesus that "His faithful love endures forever" through this Psalm, Jesus said that if the people kept quiet the stones would cry out.
