Joshua - Chapter 16

In this chapter we have the allocation of land to the tribe of Ephraim.  In this area the people of God did not drive out the Canaanites, but lived alongside them.

This area is mentioned in John 11.  Jesus had raised Lazarus from the dead and now the Jewish leaders were plotting to kill Jesus.

Therefore Jesus no longer moved about publicly among the people of Judea. Instead he withdrew to a region near the wilderness, to a village called Ephraim, where he stayed with his disciples.

Like the Ephraimites in Joshua 16 Jesus is living alongside the people who are enmity with him.
