Joshua - Chapter 7

in Chapter 6 we saw a link to the book of Revelation, and the return of Jesus in power and glory.  There is also a link in this chapter.  Achan has disobeyed God and taken the plunder from the first victory - although these belonged to God.  And his punishment was to be killed by stoning.

In the book of Revelation (Chapter 16) the Kings of the earth are standing against God, and gathering together at Armageddon - and their punishment, too is to be killed by stoning:

"And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great."
