Numbers - Chapter 12

In the previous chapter we saw Moses facing grumbling from the  people.  Today that grumbling comes from within his family.  His brother and sister began to talk against him.  By the end of the chapter Moses has spoken out for them with grace before God and they are restored.

This is a picture of Jesus relationship within his own human family.  We read in John 7 that "his own brothers did not believe in him.  In Mark 3  we read that "when his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said "He is out of his mind."

And yet after the resurrection we see Jesus' followers gathering together and in Acts 1 it says "they all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers."
