Numbers - Chapter 26

At the start of this book there was a census and over 600,000 men were counted.  Now we have a second census, as the people prepare to enter the promised land, nearly 40 years later.  Virtually all the men in the first census have died (only two of them will enter Canaan) and while there are still over 600,000 their names are different.

In Revelation Chapter 3 Jesus warns his people, in the letter to the church at Sardis, to walk with him dressed in white.  Then, he says, "I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my father and his angels."
