Numbers - Chapter 9
There is a minor detail about the Passover mentioned in verse 12. They must not leave any of the lamb until the next morning or "break any of its bones."
In the description of the crucifixion in John chapter 19 the Roman soldiers are sent to break the legs of the three people crucified. The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus; and then the legs of the other man. And then a strange thing happened. Roman soldiers were renowned for following orders. But in this case they did not break his legs; instead they pierced his side to confirm he was dead. John writes:
"these things happened so that the scriptures should be fulfilled; "Not one of his bones will be broken".
Numbers 9 contains one of the many prophecies fulfilled by Jesus.
