Ruth - Chapter 2

In this chapter we meet Boas:

Now Naomi had a relative on her husband’s side, a man of standing from the clan of Elimelek, whose name was Boaz.

Boaz is named in both of the genealogies of Jesus in Matthew and Luke.

It is important that Boaz is a relative of Naomi, as he is going to be the "kinsman-redeemer".  And in that role he represents Jesus, who is the ultimate kinsman-redeemer for the whole world.
